Charitable Donations

Donating to Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation is a positive experience. Not only does it give a knowledge that you are making a positive contribution to the health and well-being of your community, including your friends and family, but it can result in savings on your income tax return.

Achieving a tax savings through charitable donation tax credits should be recognized when you are considering making a donation. Qualified donations will result in a direct reduction in the amount of income tax owing for the year of the donation.

Not all those things which you may think are donations qualify for a charitable donation receipt. Some examples of things that do not qualify are:
  • Lottery Tickets
  • Donations of Services
  • Gifts for which a benefit is received
  • Donations to non-registered charities

Donations can be made in many forms that would suit your financial situation.

All donations (except those listed above) that are greater than $10 automatically receive a charitable receipt for income tax purposes.

Personal Donations
Many individuals make donations large and small throughout the year. It may be from $10 to $10,000 or greater.

Memorial Gifts
If you wish to remember a friend or family member who has meant so much to you in your life, making a donation in memory of someone who has passed away is a wonderful way to honour that person and help to enrich patient care at the same time.  If $1,000 or greater is donated in memory, a plaque will be placed on the Foundation's Donor Wall under the 'In Memory' category.

Tribute Gifts
Salute a special event in your or someone else’s life, such as an anniversary, retirement, graduation or birthday. You can make a tribute on their behalf. We will inform the person you have honoured of your gift and if $1,000 or more is donated in their honour a plaque will be placed on the Foundation's Donor Wall under the 'In Honour' category.

If you wish to make a donation or receive information about any of our events and programs, please contact us.
