BUH Foundation Monthly Lottery
Ticket Sales Start February 23rd
North Battleford, SK – Ticket sales for Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation’s Monthly Cash Lottery commence Monday, February 23rd, 2009.
Consistent with last year’s lottery format only 1,200 tickets will be sold, available at a cost of $104.00 each. A total of 158 draws will be made, awarding $50,000.00 in cash prizes over a period of 12 months.
The Monthly Lottery is expected to raise over $40,000.00, which will be used to enhance patient care at Battlefords Union Hospital. Specifically, proceeds from this year’s lottery will be used to purchase a ventilator for the Intensive Care Unit at BUH. This piece of life saving equipment is designed to mechanically move breathable air into and out of the lungs, to provide the mechanism of breathing for a patient who is physically unable to breathe, or breathing insufficiently.
In order to be eligible for the $1,000.00 Previous Purchaser draw being made on Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 qualifying ticket buyers must purchase their tickets by 5:00pm Monday, March 30th, 2009. Early bird purchasers who buy their tickets before 5:00pm on Monday, April 6th, 2009 will be eligible for an additional chance at $1,000.00 to be drawn Wednesday, April 8th, 2009. Following these two preliminary draws, monthly draws will take place on the last Wednesday of every month, beginning April 29th, with the exception of the month of December, which will be drawn on the 16th. Thirteen prizes totaling $4,000.00 will be awarded every month, including a top prize of $1,000.00, second prize of $600.00, third prize of $400.00 and ten additional prizes of $200.00 each.
The Board and staff of Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation thank all past supporters of the Monthly Lottery and wish all ticket purchasers for this year’s fundraiser the best of luck in the upcoming draws. Tickets will be available at the BUH Foundation office or in the Canteen/Gift Shop located in the main lobby of Battlefords Union Hospital, or by calling 446-6652.
