ICU Benefit from In Memory Donations

North Battleford, SK – Donations made in memory of Bert Cook were used to purchase an AC Adaptor for a Life Pak Monitor in the Intensive Care Unit at Battlefords Union Hospital. A Life Pak monitor is a portable life saving device that measures a patient’s cardiac rhythm, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. It also allows medical technicians to administer timed electric shocks to stabilize the patient’s heart during transport. The AC Adaptor is extremely important part of the unit, valued at $1,300.

“We chose to direct donations in Bert’s memory to the ICU, because Bert had spent time there previously. The nursing staff was wonderful and made him feel like family. That and the fact that the equipment being used to monitor his progress was quality equipment gave him peace of mind. I know Bert would want to offer future patients that same peace of mind,” commented Phyllis Cook, Bert’s wife.

“The Foundation extends their gratitude to the Cook family, for their thoughtfulness during a time of sorrow. The AC Adapter is currently being used in the ICU on a daily basis,” commented Janice Sander, executive Director, BUH Foundation.
