Hoffort Family Donates Oxygen Concentrator

North Battleford, SK - North Battleford residents, Sharon and Phil Hoffort, have donated an oxygen concentrator to the Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation for the benefit of the residents of BUH.

The oxygen concentrator was used by Sharon’s father, William McLean. William and his wife moved to the Battlefords from Arcola in their retirement, to be closer to their family. “They both spent time at BUH and were very impressed with the care they received. For that reason, we knew they would be pleased that BUH was the recipient of the oxygen concentrator,” said son-in-law Phil Hoffort. “We believe the Foundation is a good cause and we know the equipment will be put to good use.”

The concentrator takes in air and removes the nitrogen so that a patient receives pure oxygen.

The equipment donated by the Hofforts can be used throughout the various departments of BUH. It will provide a patient with mobility and in turn will be more cost-effective for the health district.

“We appreciate the faith the Hofforts have demonstrated in the Foundation and on behalf of the patients of BUH, we want to thank them for their generosity,” said executive director, Janice Sander.
