Re/Max of the Battlefords Helps Children at BUH

North Battleford, SK - Re/Max of the Battlefords is once again helping to create miracles for the children of the Battlefords Health District through its support of the Children’s Miracle Network. This year Re/Max raised $740 for the Pediatric Department of the Battlefords Union Hospital, by pledging a portion of commissions from each transaction for a three-month period.

This is the third consecutive year that the Pediatrics Department has benefited from the generosity of Re/Max, bringing the total donated to $3,000. Equipment purchased includes a Rechargeable Ottoscope (used to examine eyes, ears, nose and throat) and a Tympanic Thermometer, as well as various other items.

The Children’s Miracle Network is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the benefit of children. In 2001, Re/Max of Canada raised in excess of 2 million dollars for the Children’s Miracle Network, bringing its ten year total to more than 12 million dollars. All donations raised locally remain in the community. The $740 raised by Re/Max of the Battlefords will directly benefit children who are patients in the Pediatric Department at Battlefords Union Hospital.

Roger Manegre, Broker/Owner of Re/Max, with all of the Battlefords’ Re/Max realtors, presented the donation to the Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation this morning. Additionally, Laurie Schweder, Nursing Unit Manager for Pediatrics and Janice Sander BUH Foundation executive director were also present to accept the donation.

“On behalf of everyone on the pediatric ward at BUH, I want to thank Re/Max for responding to the needs of the children in our area,” comments Laurie Schweder, Nursing Unit Manager for the Pediatric ward.
